AVG is an anti-virus application. It locates and protects against viruses and worms which can infect your computer, slowing it down or destroying your data.
If you already have an anti-virus program, but you wish to use AVG, you need to uninstall (remove) the original anti-virus before installing AVG. Having multiple anit-virus programs can cause conflicts on your system. Use the "Add/Remove Programs" option in the Windows control panel to remove your original anti-virus program.
